The Mayor has presented Braddan School with a copy of ‘Freedom’, the DVD of the ceremony held in July last year to confer the honorary Freedom of the Borough of Douglas on the Bee Gees.
On one of his first engagements since his election as Mayor for the 2010-2011 municipal year Councillor McNicholl said that in the DVD the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb referred fondly to his time spent at Braddan School in his youth. He added that the ceremony had turned the attention of the world on Douglas, the Isle of Man and Braddan School and that the Bee Gees’ worldwide success was an example of how much can be achieved in life through hard work and dedication.
