The Eastern Civic Amenity Site Joint Committee announced new charges for waste electrical items on January 10, 2025. This followed a notification from the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) on December 23, 2024, regarding the appointment of a new contractor for “the collection, storage, and export for recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and household batteries”. 

Ahead of April’s local authority elections, Douglas City Council is to host three informal drop-in sessions for aspiring Councillors.

Douglas City Council’s Public Sector Housing Tenants will be offered a more flexible way to pay their rent from April. 

Members of the public are being thanked for their valuable input into exciting plans to revamp three of the seafront gardens on Douglas Promenade.
