Douglas Borough Council is the largest local authority in the Isle of Man and the only one with borough status.
The Council comprises 12 elected councillors, three serving each of the four wards in the Borough.
Under the Council’s constitution the councillors hold specific roles and responsibilities within a framework of an executive committee and three policy advisory committees through which they, together with officers of the Council, serve the ratepayers of Douglas.

"It is an honour to represent the residents of Douglas Central and to work on your behalf to help ensure the best possible services are delivered to our community. I am committed to listening to your concerns, standing up for local priorities and making sure the Council remains focused on what really matters to the people it serves. My approach is rooted in empathy, fairness and a strong belief in and improving services, reversing any decisions I feel are unnecessary, protecting what matters most and making sure decisions are made with a full understanding of their impact on everyday lives. Above all, I never forget who funds the work of the Council - you, the ratepayer. Accountability, transparency and value for money are central to everything I do. If there’s anything I can help with, or if you’d like to raise an issue, please don’t hesitate to get in touch."
