Hutchinson Square
There are various entrances to Hutchinson Square around the boundary of the square. There are attractive floral displays at all entrances to Hutchinson Square with signage and historical interpretation boards.
During 1940 the gardens and surrounding properties of Hutchinson Square where compulsory possessed by the British Crown and an internment camp was created. The World War II Hutchinson internment camp was particularly noted as “the artists’ camp” due to the thriving artistic and intellectual life of its internees.
