Ahead of a potential by-election in December, Douglas City Council has thanked an outgoing Councillor for his service.
Karel Ver Elst, who was elected to Douglas South ward in April last year, recently stood down due to personal commitments.
A member of the Housing and Property Committee and Pensions Committee who strongly supported collaboration between the public sector, private enterprise and local communities, the local authority has thanked him for his valuable contribution over the past 18 months and wishes him well for the future.
Arrangements for a by-election in South Ward have now been confirmed with nominations due to open tomorrow Wednesday (October 28) and close on November 4 at 1pm.
Nomination forms are available from City Hall and on the Council website.
In the event of a contest, the by-election will be held on December 3.
