Douglas promenade borders Douglas bay and is home to restaurants, clubs and hotels, as well as the Gaiety Theatre, Villa Marina and the Palace Cinema. It is also only a short walk from the main shopping area of Douglas.


The promenade provides a two-mile long walkway together a children’s playpark, the sunken (marine) gardens, lawned areas and formal flower beds maintained by the Council's parks service.




The promenade is also central to entertainment during the TT festival.

Who is responsible for cleaning of the promenade?

The promenade is kept clean by the Council’s waste management section.

Are dogs allowed on the beach?

Between the 1st May and 30th September dogs are not permitted between 10am to 6pm. Failure to observe the restriction attracts a £50 fixed penalty.
