Douglas Borough Council is the largest local authority in the Isle of Man and the only one with borough status.
The Council comprises 12 elected councillors, three serving each of the four wards in the Borough.
Under the Council’s constitution the councillors hold specific roles and responsibilities within a framework of an executive committee and three policy advisory committees through which they, together with officers of the Council, serve the ratepayers of Douglas.

"As a Councillor for the City of Douglas, I’m committed to ensuring the Council operates efficiently, transparently and in the best interests of our community. My focus is on improving service delivery, efficiency and delivering value for ratepayers. I believe in collaboration with strong partnerships between the public sector, private enterprise and local communities to achieve meaningful, lasting improvements. Key priorities for me include waste disposal and recycling, adopting an effective, environmentally responsible approach, and supporting action on vacant and dilapidated buildings that undermine the city’s vitality. By working together, we can build a cleaner, smarter and more vibrant Douglas for everyone."
