Inflatable play equipment incident on Douglas Promenade Saturday July 18

An incident involving an inflatable ‘bouncy castle’ on Douglas Promenade which resulted in a child falling into the sea occurred on Saturday afternoon, July 18th. The child was taken to Noble’s Hospital as a precaution and later released and all inflatable attractions were closed down.

The incident occurred during the run-up to Douglas Carnival that evening. Douglas Borough Council is unable to comment further until a full investigation has been carried out, save to extend its gratitude to the gentleman who brought the child out of the water and to other members of the public who assisted.
