Microgaming donates to mayoral charity appeal

Tuesday, 10 January 2017 16:05

The Mayor and Mayoress, together with friends from their local choir, were guests of Microgaming just before Christmas. The occasion provided the opportunity for the company to announce its £3000 donation to the 2016-2017 mayoral charity appeal which supports three Manx-registered charities: Anthony Nolan Isle of Man, Manx Decaf and Naseem’s Brain Tumour Charity.

Leila Ashton, director of HR at Microgaming, said: 'There wasn’t a better way to celebrate the holidays than through a group sing-along! And with it being the season of giving, it was a wonderful opportunity to make a donation to the mayoral charity appeal, which benefits three wonderful local causes. Thanks to the Mayor and Mayoress of Douglas, and the entire choir group for making our Christmas Eve Eve so special!'

His Worship said: ‘The Mayoress and I were most grateful to Microgaming for inviting us and the mayoral singers to share in their Christmas celebrations and, of course, for their generosity.  As one of the island’s leading’s businesses Microgaming, with its strong sense of social responsibility, is helping to bring about positive lasting change in the community. This donation will make a very real difference to three local charities working hard to develop their services and transform people’s lives.’
